Recipes with Macedonian Halva, Tahini and Sesame Oil

 

In addition to being tasty products with beneficial properties, tahini, halva and sesame oil are wonderful ingredients for many delicious and healthy recipes.


Tahini, the sesame cream, is very healthy and gives wonderful flavor and a transparent taste in sauces and food. It substitutes egg and this means zero cholesterol and better health.


 

Virgin Sesame Oil is an oil of high nutritional value and exceptional taste. It is ideal for all uses, since it has many unique advantages. You can use it in frying, since it has unique resistance, it does not “smoke” or “burn” and it gives fried food a wonderful crust and unique flavor.
But be careful:
use it in a pan (not a fryer) and in very small quantity, so that the surface of the food just touches the oil. The surface of the food must also be as dry as possible (no water, particularly potatoes) in order to avoid fizzling.

  • It is exceptional in pastries and confectionary creations, particularly when they contain dried fruits, as it reinforces their flavor.
  • It is used raw in salads, since it reduces the bitter taste of vegetables and offers the light and pleasant taste of sesame, an excellent combination with the vegetable.
  • It replaces any other oil used in daily cooking and it is exceptional to marinate white meat (pork, chicken) or shellfish (shrimps, scampi etc).
  • It is ideal for sauces, since it is easy to homogenize and offers wonderful gloss.
